Why I Create

My photographs are not an escape from reality. They are an invitation to notice the parts of reality that restore us.

I create to help people notice those tiny treasures that make life worth living.
The woman who first taught me to see the world didn't just notice tiny treasures.

She delighted in them.

She skipped well into her eighties.

She taught me that wonder isn't something we outgrow. It's a way of moving through the world.

I've been noticing them ever since.

Some of the moments that stay with us the longest are the ones we almost missed.

A joyful leap at the edge of the ocean. Golden light dancing across the water. A child completely absorbed in play. The quiet beauty that was there all along, waiting to be noticed.

These moments pass.

Their meaning doesn't have to.

When we pay loving attention to them, they continue to echo through our lives, reminding us what matters most.

That's what I hope my work does.

I hope my photographs don't simply invite you to look at them. I hope they invite you back into your own life.

If someone walks away from my work with a heart that flutters a little more, a soul that sings a little louder, or with a renewed appreciation for the beauty already surrounding them, then the photograph has done its job.

Because life is full of tiny treasures.

Sometimes all we need is a gentle invitation to notice them.
